How To Play Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker is one of the popular poker variations played at online casino. Played with deck of 52 cards, your goal is to play against the dealer and not your opponent. Where you place an initial bet, then receive a hand, and to decide whether you would like to bet against the dealer's hand. If you're going to find an online gambling casino to play caribbean poker with, be sure to keep reading.

Most likely in the game of Blackjack, in Caribbean Stud Poker, if the dealer qualifies and you win, you get paid odds on your raise bet. This card game is played with one standard deck of cards. The game is initiated when the player places a bet called the ante. Next, the dealer will deal five cards face down to each player.

What You Must Do

  • Bet – place you initial bet to start the game.
  • Deal – to start the game once the bets are collected. This is where you will get a 5 card face up and the Dealer gets 4 cards face down and 1 face up.
  • Raise – if you have a great card and wish to re-raise your bet, meaning your bet will be doubled.
  • Fold – If you don't like your cards, ending the game and player forfeits the bet.

If the player feels that they have a good hand they must place a raising bet that is twice the amount of the original bet. After this, the dealer turns over his cards so that all five cards are revealed to the players. At this point the dealer must have at least an ace and a king in order for the game to continue. In accordance with the official Caribbean Stud rules, the lowest qualifying dealer hand is 2, 3, 4, Ace and the King.

If the dealer doesn't have a qualifying hand then the player wins money on their ante bet, and their raise is pushed or draw which the bet is returned to the players bank roll. If on the other hand the dealer's hand qualifies and beats the player's hand, then the dealer wins and the player will lose both their ante bet and their raise.

If the dealer has a qualifying hand but it doesn't beat the player's hand then the dealer will need to pay the player even money on their ante bet and pay the player money on their raise based on the raise pay table. To determine winnings from progressive side bets, the player will need to refer to a side bet pay table.

The dealer's own five-card hand is dealt, four cards face down and the final card face up. Now it is the player's choice to either stay in the game or fold.

If the dealer does have at least an ace/king combination, then a comparison is made between the dealer's and player's hand. The odds payouts in Caribbean Poker for the various hands typically run as follows:

  • 2 Pair – 2 to 1
  • 3 of A Kind – 3 to 1
  • Straight – 4 to1
  • Flush – 5 to 1
  • Full House – 7 to 1
  • 4 Of A Kind – 20 to 1
  • Straight Flush – 50 to 1
  • Royal Flush – 100 to 1

If the player chooses to fold, the ante is forfeited. If the player decides to stay, the amount of the original ante must be doubled. The dealer's cards are then revealed. If the dealer does not have at least an ace/king combination, the player automatically wins even money on the ante and the bet is returned.
